The space
Once part of a much larger historic farm, The Cottage was built in 1918. We are located on the South west Coast of Vancouver Island 12 Km west of Sooke.
Situated in a forest and farmland setting, the property has a large yard and 2.5 acres to explore. On the property there is also the main farm house which was built in 1914 as well as a Tiny House. The moment you step out of your car you will feel a sense of peace and tranquility.
The Cottage is really a fully equipped small house with two double bedrooms on the upper floor, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. There is a queen size master bedroom with ensuite on the main level. Plus a double pull-out in the living room.
Most guests describe the cottage as spacious and peaceful. There is a living room with a wood-burning fireplace insert (firewood included), a large kitchen/dining room and full bathroom.
There is also a laundry room with washer and dryer.
The nearest beach is Muir Creek Beach about 500 m away.
Muir Creek runs into the Straight of Juan da Fuca here and the estuary provides a great opportunity for bird and wildlife watching. Canadian Geese, Bald Eagles, Heron, River Otters, Seals...
From here you can look across the Straight to the Olympic Mountains. Whales and Sea Lions are often spotted here.
Farther along the coast are the many beautiful beaches of the area; Gordon Beach, French Beach, Sombrio Beach, China Beach and many more. Botanical Beach at Port Renfrew is a must see at low tide.
The Farm is 1hr 15min drive away from Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and Victoria International Airport. One hour to Victoria and 15 minutes to Sooke.
